Join us on Thursday, February 22, at the Vincennes University Gallery of Art from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm as we take a visual journey through 20th century black life in Knox County, Indiana.
Long-time residences of Knox County and those who have ventured out and returned will share family and individual photos and stories of the black experience from the early 1900s through the turn of the century.
Learn about local legends like Cap Embry and historical institutions like Second Baptist and Dunbar School. Join us and experience a part of Knox County that you may not have known.
This event promises to be both engaging and informative. Admission is free to students and the public. Refreshments will be served.
This event is sponsored by The Vincennes University Legacy Club, the Vincennes University Gallery of Art, the Knox County Public Library, and the Knox County Black History Preservation Project.
