Huntingburg Police have released new details in an investigation into two deaths in Huntingburg, including the deceased’s names. The incident happened on North Geiger Street on Monday.

Police say 53-year-old Oliva Mora Regalado died from a medical emergency due to a preexisting condition. After she collapsed, a 4-year-old girl, Evelynn Lopez, was attacked by dogs in the home for unknown reasons.

The child succumbed to injuries.

Investigators say six pitbulls and one poodle mix were in the home. All were sedated and then euthanized at the scene for public safety.  They were then sent to the Southern Indiana Purdue Ag Center in Dubois County for testing.

Police say no criminal charges will be filed.
