WIN Energy REMC recently awarded three grants totaling $8,758 to organizations in Pike County.

The Jefferson Township Fire Department received $1,990 to purchase wet suits for water rescue training. Pike County EMS was granted $2,518 to purchase motorized stair chairs, which will assist paramedics in transporting patients up and down stairs. The Union Fire Department received $4,250 for a backup generator, ensuring communication continuity during power outages and the ability to serve as a cooling or warming center in emergencies.

These grants were made possible through WIN Energy REMC’s Operation Round Up program, which allows members to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar to support local causes. Since its inception in May 2013, the program has awarded 241 grants totaling over $748,000.
