
Washington Boys Basketball Coach Gene Miiller announced his retirement Wednesday after 50 years of coaching Indiana high school basketball. Miiller, a Hall of Famer, has been recognized with numerous honors, including induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and the Wabash College Hall of Fame, along with receiving The John Wooden Legacy Award.
Finishing his career with a 779-391 record, Miiller led the Hatchets for the last 20 years, compiling a 311-163 record. During this time, his teams won three Class 3A state championships in 2008, 2010, and 2011.
Miiller coached Vincennes for 17 years. His 1984 team were state runners-up.
