Knox County Indiana Economic Development CEO Chris Pfaff recently traveled to Berlin as part of a weeklong trade mission with the Chicago Consul General.

The trip focused on rural development and agriculture, connecting with federal, state, and local leaders. Pfaff says the experience highlighted similarities between rural communities in Germany and the U.S.

Pfaff says one of the most impactful parts of the trip was getting connected with the Transatlantic Business Investment Council.
“This is a group that helps connect European companies that are looking to make investments in the U.S. with communities here,” Pfaff said. “If we get involved further with these folks, they would basically help us market our community to companies that may have an interest in coming to the U.S. and opening new facilities.”

Pfaff believes this could be a prime opportunity to attract investment, especially as businesses seek to avoid tariffs and trade barriers.
