Counselors and Clergy were made available to South Knox students and staff today.
Their services were being offered as the South Knox community mourns the loss of a beloved staff member who died unexpectedly on Thursday.
In a statement released today, South Knox School Superintendent Jeff Cochren says that they are saddened to share the passing of 5th Grade Teacher Ashlynn Smith.
He called her an exceptional, mentor, and friend who made a lasting impact on the lives of students and colleagues
Schools ran on a two hour delay because of the situation.
Cochren asked for privacy and respect during the difficult time as the school corporation and patrons come together to support each other.
