The Indiana State Police partnered with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance for a human trafficking awareness campaign from January 13th to 17th. The initiative aimed to educate truck drivers, law enforcement, and the public on recognizing and reporting trafficking.

State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement units inspected nearly 700 trucks, distributing over 1,400 wallet cards and brochures from Truckers Against Trafficking. Officers also held 10 outreach events and conducted eight media interviews to boost awareness.

Truck drivers are often in areas where trafficking may occur, such as truck stops and rest areas.  By equipping them with knowledge, officials say they can be critical in identifying and stopping this crime.
