We are one week away from a long-anticipated and much-needed service in Vincennes. A new public transportation system will start running routes on Monday, December 2nd.
The Vincennes Trolley system will launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. at Vincennes City Hall. Residents are invited to attend and learn about the service, which features 52 stops across historic Vincennes.
The idea gained traction in early 2023 during Mayor Joe Yochum’s fourth term, with funding from the Hoosier Enduring Legacy Program and other sources. Community input helped shape the system’s design.
Two buses will run one-hour routes five days a week. Styled like vintage trolleys, they pay homage to the city’s 19th-century streetcars while providing modern transportation for residents, students, and commuters.
The ribbon-cutting will officially introduce this valuable new service to the community.
