Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of Mike Pastorious, 51, who was found unresponsive near his home in Terre Haute on Monday.
Pastorious, discovered about 30 feet from a 15-foot elevated hunting stand, was not wearing a full-body safety harness at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy revealed multiple blunt force injuries and underlying medical issues, but the exact cause of death remains pending until toxicology results are returned.
Indiana Conservation Officers remind hunters to always use safety harnesses when in elevated positions.
Assisting agencies include the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department and the Vigo County Coroner’s Office.
