Indiana farmers are expecting solid but not record-breaking corn and soybean yields for 2024, based on the USDA’s October Crop Production Report that was released October 11th.

Corn yields are forecast at 202 bushels per acre, a slight dip from last year, with total production down 5% at 1.02 billion bushels. Soybean yields are predicted at 60 bushels per acre, with total production up 4%, reaching 347 million bushels.

Nationally, corn production is expected to hit 15.2 billion bushels, while soybean production could set a record at 4.58 billion bushels, despite a slight forecast decrease.
