This Friday is the first Friday of October with new and continuing artwork to be seen in Vincennes art galleries. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m., though the Shircliff Gallery will close an hour earlier at 6.
At Art Space Vincennes, photographer John Puffer is showing a collection of images titled “Photographs for Lulu, Photographs for My Daughter,” reflecting his lifelong work in photography. Visitors will have the chance to meet Puffer during the event.
The Northwest Territory Art Guild will feature vibrant floral paintings by Shirley Truelove, alongside other works by Guild members, including handmade ceramics and jewelry.
Over at the Open Gallery, artist Coleman Stevenson’s “Spiracies” will be on display. This exhibition features hand-rendered text and monoprinting techniques, exploring themes of solitude and spirituality. Stevenson will be there to greet visitors.
The Shircliff Gallery is continuing its “Uprooted” exhibit by Laura Greenwood and Margaret LeJeune, showcasing works that explore human-environment relationships.
