This Saturday, Patrick Henry Square in Vincennes will come alive with the vibrant sounds, sights, and flavors of the 7th annual Festival Latino. The event, which celebrates Latin American culture, has become a beloved tradition in the community, growing each year in both size and significance.

Fernando Lozano, one of the festival’s organizers, expressed pride in how the community has embraced the celebration. “This is an opportunity for Vincennes to really experience Mexican and Latin American traditions in their full potential,” he said. “It’s been gratifying to see the festival grow and to see people connect with the culture.”

This year’s Festival Latino promises even more excitement, featuring live performances from two mariachi bands—a first for the festival when it started seven years ago. Additionally, co-organizer Jen Holscher highlighted the inclusion of two folkloric dance groups, with one group traveling from Indiana University and the other, the Mosaicos, returning from Indianapolis. “We’ve really added quite a bit this year,” Holscher said. “The festival continues to grow, and it’s exciting to see how much the community enjoys it.”

Festival-goers can also look forward to salsa lessons, energetic live bands, and an array of food vendors serving up authentic Mexican street food, making it a full cultural experience.

The Festival Latino will run from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. this Saturday at Patrick Henry Square, and admission is free. It’s a can’t-miss event for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the rich traditions and lively atmosphere of Latin American heritage.
