The National Weather Service is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Francine, which could impact Indiana later this week.

Rain is expected to reach southern Indiana, with the storm’s remnants likely bringing heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding to the Quad State region by Thursday into Friday.

For our region there is a 70% chance of rain Thursday night and an 80% chance on Friday.

In a special Knox County Commissioners meeting on Monday, the three commissioners briefly discussed a possible burn ban for the county due to the dry conditions.

Commissioner Kellie Streeter commented that based on area fire chiefs recommendations, they would review conditions in about a week before instituting a ban.

As of now there is NOT a burn ban in Knox County.
