Indiana State Police have arrested an Owensville father, Austin McGill, for allegedly striking his eight-year-old stepdaughter and pointing a loaded firearm at her.

The incident occurred Sunday, September 8, while McGill was caring for his three children at home. The children’s mother was not present at the time.

After an investigation, the Gibson County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges, including pointing a firearm, neglect, and domestic battery. McGill, 24, turned himself in at the Gibson County Jail Monday.
