As the first week of the 2024-25 academic year wraps up, Vincennes University is celebrating a series of positive developments that signal a strong start to the fall semester.

The university has seen an encouraging rise in new enrollment, with 1,091 students making up the largest incoming class at the Vincennes Campus since 2021. Additionally, enrollment from the Twin Rivers Career and Technical Education Cooperative has surged by 20 percent, offering high school students from surrounding counties dual enrollment opportunities in high-demand fields like Welding, IT, Law Enforcement, and Pharmacy Technology.

Diversity on campus is also on the rise, with more African American, Latino, female, and urban students enrolling this semester. The university is welcoming a growing number of international students, both on campus and online. VU has also experienced a significant increase in high-achieving students, with a 60 percent rise in incoming Trailblazers who were Valedictorian or Salutatorian of their high school class.

Campus life is buzzing with activity as well, with the most housing contracts signed since 2020 and a 12 percent increase in attendance at Start VU events. VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson attributes these successes to the university’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality education and says that VU is well-positioned for continued growth and success throughout the academic year.
