A reportedly armed suspect in a battery investigation was arrested without further incident on Sunday in Jasper.

At 1:31 a.m. on August 18, 2024, Jasper City Police received a 911 call from a man at Maplegrove Trailer Park, reporting that he had been battered and that the suspect was armed with a pistol.

Officers located the suspect, identified as Jose de Jesus Perez Martinez, at Lot 111 of the park. After surrounding the trailer, Martinez eventually exited and was detained.

During the investigation, officers found drug paraphernalia belonging to Martinez.

He was medically cleared at Memorial Hospital and then transported to the Dubois County Security Center.
