In the early morning hours on Thursday, Gibson County Deputy Michael Bates conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 64 near the 27-mile marker, leading to the arrest of 38-year-old Timothy Ray of Evansville.

The stop involved a white 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and Deputy Bates confirmed that Ray had an outstanding warrant from Ohio.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Bates detected the odor of marijuana, prompting a roadside drug investigation. Following the investigation, Ray was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail.

Ray was booked on the Ohio warrant, along with local charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
