The annual Bicknell Heritage Festival is fast approaching, with several activities already in motion.
The City of Bicknell is currently accepting nominations for its Man and Woman of the Year awards, which will be presented during the festival.
Residents are encouraged to submit nomination letters explaining why their chosen individual deserves the honor.
These can be sent to P.O. Box 127, Bicknell, IN 47512, or via email to mayor@bicknell.in.gov. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, August 21st.
Winners of the Man and Woman of the Year awards will be announced during the Labor Day Queen Contest, scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th, at 7 p.m. This event will take place at North Knox Primary School in Bicknell.
Meanwhile voting is underway for the 2024 Mini King and Queen. Voting boxes are placed at various Bicknell banks and establishments.
One penny equals 1 vote, and votes may be cast with cash or coins. Boxes will be picked up on August 26 at 3 PM.
As part of the festival, the city will dedicate the Heritage Circle at Northside Park on Saturday, August 31st. That ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
