A high-speed chase Sunday night ended in the arrest of a 61-year-old Odon man in Martin County.

Indiana State Police say Steven A. Kiser led officers on a pursuit after failing to stop for a traffic violation on US 50 near 2nd Street in Loogootee.

The chase, which began around 8:15 p.m., saw Kiser reaching speeds over 80 miles per hour. During the pursuit, Kiser’s vehicle left the road and struck a mailbox before returning to Loogootee. The chase ended in a church parking lot where Kiser was arrested without incident.

Kiser now faces multiple charges, including Resisting Law Enforcement, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, and Reckless Driving. He is currently being held in Martin County.

Indiana State Police were assisted by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Loogootee Police.
