A local charity group is reaching a donation milestone.

The One Hundred Women who Care, was founded five years ago.

The group meets quarterly, with each member contributing $100.

During these meetings, members nominate and vote on which non-profits should receive the funds. The non-profit with the most votes receives the donation.

Recently, spokesperson Jo Singleton, announced that the group’s donations to Knox County charities will total $250,000 after this month’s meeting.

Anyone interested in joining the One Hundred Women Who Care can find more information on the group’s Facebook page or by contacting Jo Singleton at the Dayson Heart Center at Good Samaritan Hospital.
