WIN Energy REMC has appointed Leslie Beard as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 1, 2024.

Beard succeeds Tom Nowaskie, who retired after serving as CEO since August 2018 and dedicating over 45 years to the cooperative.

Beard began her career at WIN Energy REMC in 2000 and has steadily risen through the ranks, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) since December 2020. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Indiana University and an MBA with a concentration in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana. Beard has completed several industry-specific education programs and is a Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC).

Active in the community, Beard serves on various economic development boards and is an active member of Central Church of Christ in Vincennes. She expressed her excitement about her new role, stating, “I am honored to lead such a dedicated team and serve our members and communities. Together, we will navigate the changing utility industry.”
