Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum will be taking a trip overseas next week.

He told the city council he is headed to Vincennes, Indiana’s sister city when the summer Olympics begin.

The Olympic Torch will be running through Vincennes, France on it’s way to Paris the weekend of July 20th and the French city has invited all of their sister cities to be represented and Mayor Yochum has accepted that invitation.

Although the Olympics are in Paris, Vincennes, France has created a fan zone in the royal courtyard of the Chateu De Vincennes Castle where visitors can celebrate the games and watch the competitions on a giant screen.
