turkeys

Indiana residents are being asked to help track wild turkeys.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is asking everyone in the state to report any sightings of turkey hens with or without their poults, or young turkeys.

The observations will help the DNR biologists to better manage the wild turkey population.

They are hoping to gather 3,000 observations across the state with at least 25 per county.

The tracking is going on throughout July and August.

You can submit your observations online at  https://www.in.gov/dnr/fish-and-wildlife/wildlife-resources/animals/wild-turkey/turkey-brood-reporting.
