An Air Quality Alert continues through midnight tonight.

The National Weather Service says the alert was declared by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

The alert was issued due to higher temps with light winds and sunny skies which can increase ozone levels to an unhealthy range.

Sensitive groups like active children and adults. and those with respiratory issues can be affected by the high levels.

Residents are advised to drive as little as possible, avoid refueling vehicles or gas powered yard equipment until after 7-pm and conserve energy by turning off lights and setting the A-C at 75 or above.
