After 4 years people can enter Good Samaritan Hospital through the 6th street side.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the entrance had been closed and then remained closed due to the information desk at the entrance being unstaffed.

Today staffing is in place at that desk to aid those who use the entrance which will be open Monday through Friday from 8 to 8.

Staffing for that information desk is a a partnership with  Good Samaritan Volunteer Services and the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse.

Hospital CEO Rob McLin says reopening the entrance after 4 years will be a a huge satisfier for patients and visitors who are visiting the northeast side of the hospital.

Clubhouse Coordinator Dave Engstrom says they are thrilled to be working with Good Sam again through their transitional employment program which allows clubhouse members to gain meaningful employment in the community.

Ali McCrary, the Manager of Good Sam’s Volunteer services says she’s excited to bring the volunteers back to the 6th Street entrance as for some it will be like going home as many will be happy to be working there again.
