Nine area animal agencies took part in this weekend’s Southwest Indiana Mega Pet Adoption event.
The one-day event was organized by the Sullivan County Humane Society and was held at the Sullivan County Fairgrounds Saturday.
Heavy rain throughout the day might have dampened the turn-out, but organizer Tina Baker says it was a great group effort.
Vincennes Animal Shelter Director Leah Reagan says in total, 33 dogs and cats were adopted out during the event, however only one Vincennes dog found a new home, while they had 7 cats adopted out. That means the kennels are still full at the Vincennes Animal Shelter.
