Weather permitting some important city street projects are getting underway.
The city of Vincennes says that on Tuesday paving crews will start milling on Busseron Street from 8th to 15th and on 13th Street from Main to Hart.
Milling will also start on Highland Avenue and there will be some minor milling on Barnett Street from 11th to 13th.
Later this week paving will start on those areas.
Meanwhile next week, Starting Monday June 10th, the Road Diet will be constructed on Hart Street from 15th to Veteran’s Drive.
That work will be done at night and will include closures. The nightly work will allow for the project to be completed in three to four days.
As reported last month the Road Diet would consist of converting the 4 lane undivided Hart Street from Veterans Drive to 15th Street to a 3 lane configuration with 1 travel lane each direction. It would include a center two-way left turn lane and bike lanes.
The rest of the alternate on the project from Hart to Kimmell to Bauer and Kimmell Road from Hart to just passed Fort will also be completed during the night but will have a flagger directing traffic.
Again the schedule for all of the work could change due to weather.
