Nominations are being sought for an annual summertime award.

The 49th annual “Spirit of 76 Award” will be given to a Knox County resident who helps make his or her community a better place to live through their personal involvement utilizing their gifts of time, talent, energy and resources.

It’s awarded each 4th of July by the Vincennes Fourth of July Committee.

Letters of nomination are due by 4-pm June 19th and should include biographical data on the individual and examples of how the person meets the criteria for the award.
