Nearly 1500 students recently received valuable career information.

Lincoln High and Clark Middle school students attended the 2nd annual career fair last week.

In this 2nd year for the event students from North and South Knox and Rivet were invited and many of them were also on hand.

110 businesses and organizations provided the students with knowledge on work based learning opportunities, apprenticeships, and available full and part-time jobs.

The businesses also provided hands on activities like operating a medical science lab and water utility microscopes, advanced manufacturing robots, and a semi truck driving simulator.

In addition, students learned about the high tech world of broadcasting from Vincennes University’s broadcasting program.

Event organizer Becky Bouchie is the Community Partnership Development Coordinator for Vincennes Schools.

She says the goal is to show teens how many opportunities there are in the Knox County area…
