Vincennes University Conservation Law students are participating in a grueling 25-hour challenge right now.
The Green Mile Challenge kicked off at 7 o’clock Wednesday morning at the VU track, where the students underwent a personal training assessment consisting of a mile and a half run, push ups, and sit ups.
Retired Conservation Law Enforcement officer Eric Doane is in his third year leading VU program.
He says he has designed this rigorous challenge to prepare them for the demands of their future career.
The Green Mile Challenge consists of several sessions at various locations focused on field skills of land navigation and wilderness survival techniques, law enforcement and rescue scenarios, as well as water confidence training.
Doane says many VU alumni who are working in Conservation Law and Law Enforcement will be on hand today to help lead the students through the challenge. We will have full coverage of this challenge in a future episode of First City Focus.
