A new pharmacy in Vincennes that caters to unique needs officially opens today.

A ribbon cutting is slated for 10-am for the grand opening of Good Samaritan’s Specialty Pharmacy.

Good Samaritan says specialty pharmacies play a crucial role in health care by providing medications that may be costly and have limited distribution or require specialized monitoring or patient education.

Shane Wilson is Good Samaritan’s Director of Pharmacy and he says they are meeting an unmet need for patients who are required by their insurance to use a specialty pharmacy for their infusion medications.

Good Samaritan has partnered with Omnicell to provide the service. Omnicell is a pharmacy automation and analytics solutions provider.

Following the 10am ribbon cutting this morning there will be an open house for the public until 12pm.
