Community Unit School District 20 in Lawrenceville is inviting parents and community members to a May 12 meeting to discuss special education services for private and home-schooled students with disabilities.
The meeting will be held from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. at Parkview Junior High in the Special Services Office. District officials say the session will cover how students will be served during the 2025-2026 school year.
Under the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004, public schools must provide private school students the opportunity to participate in special education services funded through federal grants.
The meeting will also give attendees a chance to provide feedback and learn about the district’s process for screening and evaluating students with disabilities.
Questions ahead of the meeting can be directed to Amy Stoelting at astoelting@cusd20.net.
