The Pike County Prosecutor’s Office is crediting Petersburg Police for a series of recent drug convictions and arrests involving meth and synthetic drugs.
In a news release the office says Corporal Taylor Deffendoll’s drug investigations led to prison sentences for Laura Bennett and James Hughes, each convicted of meth possession while armed.
In March, Deffendoll arrested Joshua Brames after finding drug paraphernalia. A search of his phone led to Roger McCord of Stendal, who admitted ordering chemicals from China to make synthetic “bath salts.”
McCord was charged with dealing a controlled substance analog. All charges remain allegations pending court outcomes.
