Twenty teams of high school entrepreneurs have advanced to the semifinals of the First Founders Pitch Competition, set for tonight at 6 p.m. at the Pantheon in Vincennes.
The event follows months of in-class entrepreneurial training at North Knox, South Knox, Rivet, Lincoln, and Pike Central high schools, funded by a $40,000 grant from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Students developed business ideas, with 20 teams selected from an initial 52 to compete in the semifinals.
Six teams will advance to the finals on Thursday April 3, where they will compete for $6,000 in prize money. The first-place team will receive $3,000, second place $2,000, and third place $1,000 to support their startups.
The competition is free and open to the public. More details are available at pantheontheatre.org
