A flood watch goes into effect Wednesday night and will remain in place through Sunday as multiple waves of heavy rainfall move through the area.

Flash flooding is possible Wednesday night into Thursday, with significant river flooding potentially developing later in the week.

Wednesday’s forecast includes a high near 78 with isolated showers in the morning, followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some storms could be severe, with wind gusts reaching up to 44 mph. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch are expected.

Overnight, thunderstorms and heavy rain will continue, with some storms potentially severe. Winds will range from 10 to 18 mph, with gusts up to 33 mph. Rainfall totals between 1 and 2 inches are possible.

Residents should monitor conditions closely and prepare for potential flooding.
