Discover Downtown Washington has advanced to Aspiring Indiana Main Street status under the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs’ (OCRA) Main Street Program. This recognition marks a key step toward full accreditation with Main Street America, which could be achieved within a year.

The milestone follows a year of progress for the organization, including the adoption of a Downtown Revitalization Plan in January and receiving the Dillon Tourism Award from the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce in February. With this designation, Discover Downtown Washington gains access to additional training, networking, and resources to support its efforts in strengthening the downtown area.

Board members, volunteers, business and building owners, and community supporters were credited with helping the organization reach this level.
