
The Knox County Commissioners have officially proclaimed the day in honor of the 2025 South Knox High School girls’ basketball team following their historic state championship win.
At today’s regular commissioners meeting, the team made an appearance to hear the official proclamation which stated that the Lady Spartans finished the season with a 27-2 record, with their only losses coming against top-ranked Class 4A teams. The proclamation went on to say they held the ranking in Class 2A for most of the season and secured their first-ever regional title followed by the state title on March 1st which was the school’s first state championship in any varsity sport
The proclamation recognizes the team’s achievements and contributions to Knox County, officially designating Lady Spartans Day in their honor.
