A New Jersey man was arrested early Thursday in Gibson County after authorities found 116 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.

Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 41 near the White River Bridge at 1:16 a.m. and found a black 2017 Lincoln sedan that had left the roadway due to surface conditions. The driver, operating as a taxi service, was not charged.

During the investigation, deputies detected the odor of raw marijuana and discovered 100 vacuum-sealed bags inside the vehicle.

The passenger, 19-year-old Haking Weeks of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail on a felony charge of marijuana possession.
