There was a good turnout at Grouseland for President’s Day on Monday.
William Henry Harrison’s historic home hosted special tours, photo opportunities, and prize giveaways throughout the day.
A highlight of the event was the Harley Hawk Raptor Program, presented by Talon Trust Inc. “We rescue, rehab, and release native raptors in our area in southern Indiana,” said Jill Keepes, vice president of Talon Trust. “We also do education programs like we did today out in communities for libraries or programs like this—nursing homes, schools—just to further our purpose of conservation and education to the community.”
Attendee Alix Duffield said he attended to learn more about raptors and conservation. “I like to learn about the raptor behavior and the mechanical parts—the actual logistics side of the conservation, their efforts, and the rehab,” he said.
