The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Knox County United Way to support individuals staying at the Vincennes emergency shelter. The funds will assist with basic needs and accommodations.

First City Sunrise, a member of the Homeless Task Force, operates the shelter, which provides overnight accommodations for up to 20 people by referral.

Duke Energy’s Kurt Phegley presented the check to First City Sunrise President Dr. Caroline Steinman and Knox County United Way Director Mark Hill.
