A reminder that free tax preparation at the local library starts this Saturday.

United Way of Knox County is offering the services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The service provides free tax return preparation and e-filing, along with screenings to help individuals claim Earned Income and Child Tax Credits.

Taxpayers can continue pick up information packets \at the Knox County Public Library in Vincennes and the Bicknell-Vigo Township Library. After completing the packet, they can drop it off at designated VITA sessions for processing. Completed returns will be available for pickup the following Saturday.

VITA sessions will take place at the Knox County Public Library from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through February starting this Saturday.

An additional session will be held at the Bicknell Library from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on February 13.
