State Rep. Matt Hostettler of Patoka is pushing for more roadside mowing along U.S. 41. His bill, House Bill 1346, would direct additional funding to INDOT for mowing from the Vanderburgh-Gibson County line to the Knox-Sullivan County line.
Hostettler says keeping highways clear improves safety by maintaining visibility for drivers. He cites national data showing thousands of crashes are linked to road conditions. The bill wouldn’t change INDOT’s mowing schedule but would ensure the stretch gets proper maintenance.
House Bill 1346 has been sent to the House Roads and Transportation Committee.
