At Monday’s Vincennes City Council meeting, members shared important updates on community safety and progress.
Council Member Regina Blinn urged residents to stay vigilant as warmer weather approaches. She highlighted increased activity on city streets due to ramped-up construction projects and encouraged motorists to stay alert to avoid accidents.
“The weather’s clearing, and snow is starting to go away. There’ll be more construction jobs picking up. Pay attention to your surroundings—don’t be distracted by your phone. We want everyone to go home safely,” Blinn said.
Meanwhile, Council Member John Stangle praised the new Vincennes Community School Corporation (VCSC) in-house police department, noting its smooth launch under Chief Aaron Luce. Stangle shared updates on their progress, including pending vehicle decals and uniform pieces.
“The VCSC police department’s come along great. Chief Luce is doing an excellent job, and I see them present at all the schools,” Stangle remarked.
He also commended the school board and superintendent for establishing the department, saying it provides peace of mind for residents.
