A man was jailed following a three-vehicle accident on Sunday evening in Gibson County. Deputies say 26-year-old Yoaris Lopez of Henderson was driving a black 2007 Chevy Silverado northbound on State Road 165 near County Road 100 West when he crossed the centerline and struck a blue 2011 Hyundai Sonata head-on. The Hyundai left the roadway and came to rest in a nearby field. A third vehicle, a white 2024 Toyota RAV4, was also involved when it was struck by a tire in the roadway.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. Lopez, who deputies say smelled of alcohol, was treated for a fractured kneecap before being arrested and booked into the Gibson County Jail. He faces charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
