A recent Naloxone training session at the Knox County Library has been deemed a major success in the fight against opioid overdoses.

The event held this past Wednesday drew a diverse crowd of 26 attendees, including Vincennes University professors, students, ministers, and local media.

During the one-hour class, participants learned how to use naloxone also known as Narcan to reverse opioid overdoses. A live demonstration and Q&A session followed, and over 150 naloxone doses were distributed free of charge.

Due to high demand, organizers have announced a second training session for February 19 at 6 p.m., also at the Knox County Library. Interested individuals can contact Mark Storms or Claudia Hutchinson to register, or visit the Courage House Facebook Page  for more information.
