Development Services, Inc. (DSI) in Washington, Indiana, is set to open a Hospitality Training Center with a $75,000 matching grant from the Indiana United Ways Statewide Capital Projects Initiative. The center will teach individuals with disabilities and other challenges skills in meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry service, and financial management.

Located at 2212 E. National Highway, the facility will feature a kitchen, demonstration bedroom and bath, and laundry area. Participants will gain life and work skills, filling a workforce gap in hospitality and assisted living industries.

DSI’s Sherri Tredway says the project represents a step toward autonomy and financial stability. The center is expected to open this summer.
