The Knox County Health Department is hosting a “Thankful Blood Drive” Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The mobile unit, provided by Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, will be in the parking lot of the health department.

Knox County Community Health Nurse Susan Yochum says blood donations are especially needed during the holiday season when supplies often run low.

Versiti provides the majority of blood products to Good Samaritan Hospital, and Yochum says making local contributions is vital to healthcare in Knox County.
