Two people were arrested Wednesday during a search warrant operation near Oakland City by the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police. The investigation, which began around 1 p.m. at a residence in the 1000 block of East 50 North, was part of ongoing efforts to locate 62-year-old missing person Lora Overton, reported missing on June 7.

Authorities took 58-year-old David Hughes of Oakland City into custody for possession of a firearm by a felon after multiple firearms were found in his possession. Theresa Wilkins, 57, of Petersburg, was also arrested on an outstanding identity theft warrant out of Saline County, Illinois.

Investigators continue to seek information about Overton, described as a 5’2” Caucasian female with blonde hair, brown eyes, and weighing approximately 100 pounds. Anyone with details about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.
