The Knox County Sheriff’s Department detailed the Tuesday arrest of an intoxicated driver.
Around 7 p.m., dispatch received reports of an impaired driver heading north on State Road 67. A deputy observed the suspect vehicle near Bicknell, noted a traffic violation, and initiated a stop.
The driver, 50-year-old Ranbir Multani of Vincennes, showed signs of impairment. Tests confirmed a BAC of .24—three times the legal limit.
Multani was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for medical clearance. While there, the Sheriff’s Department utilized their new the SoToxa™ Oral Fluid Mobile Test System which showed Multani was also allegedly under the influence of Marijuana.
Multani was medically evaluated, then booked at the Knox County Jail for Operating a Vehicle with a BAC of .15 or More.
