One person was killed and two were injured in a two car crash just before 10 this morning at US 50 and State Road 550 in Knox County.

Knox County Sheriff Doug Vantlin reports that a four-door sedan driven by 40-year-old Tammy Payton tried to cross 50 from 550 and was hit by a west bound SUV driven by 46-year-old Jessica Small.

Payton was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger in Payton’s vehicle, 22-year-old Troy Gulley was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and later flown to Deaconess in Evansville.

The Sheriff says Payton and Gulley had addresses listen in Terre Haute.

Small, of Knox County, was said to have been taken to Good Sam with minor injuries.

The accident shut down US 50 for about 90 minutes.
